Hello, Another month, another round of ebay!

First for my wants I'm hoping to win one of these, if not both
East German Bayonet/Wirecutters
I want these because I have branched off my collection into east german and soviet items at the moment, and they are my current focus until I can let the market replenish for pattern 51 items.

I currently have three items coming to me this month, All three east german.

The first, is a east german airforce visor hats, one of the ones from last months WW&W
I just find this hat very sexy, period.

And the next two are two different overseas hats

The first is a police issue

The second, is a NVA (no, not the north Vietnamese) issue


Next for the washouts!

The glengarry hat from ww1 that I discussed last time is my only washout, I didn't bother bidding because it skyrocketed in price, sold just shy of a C-Note

Pattern 51 Compass pouch

Hello, Recieved my Pattern 51 compass pouch today that I was supposed to get with my gas mask bag/mess tin carrier, but due to a misunderstanding It was sent late but I got it today and it's photo time!

Bunkers, Buildings and Bombshelters

Hello, This will be another segment on my blog documenting the different military installments around my town (Prince Rupert), According to Wikipedia, there is atleast 9 different ones in my town, and I've only found three of them so far, and only partially explored them. So let's get on to the history side of things, After the strike on pearl harbor (ironically, there's a pearl harbor near me, but not the same one) we began to fear for our western shores (US and CANADA) and defense posts and what not sprung up in strategic points, and I live in one of the major northern ones.
WIKI page for those who want some actual history with more substance than my very brief explanation

Barret Point:

This appears to be the main installment, and it is quite impressive if I do say so myself, According to wiki, there are several gun batteries (One of them can be seen to the right) where large anti aircraft and other large guns would be positioned.
In Barret point I've also found several entrances to underground bunkers (which I have yet to explore, hopefully I will have a report from them in the near future) A machine gun nest, and several other buildings

Another entrance into the underworld

Not too sure what this building would have been used for, it was a rather huge building, couldn't see much in it because it was really dark in it and I had no decent flashlight with me at the time

Just to show you how thick the walls are in this thing.

My next building I found, I don't know much about this one at all, and I'm not even sure what it was used for, but I've been told it's one of the military fortifications, and it looks like it.

When you first enter, you see this, and can see a second floor beneath the main one

This appears to be the only picture I have, and thankfully, because when I took a drive by, it looked as if something backed into this building and it is badly damaged, the entire front is broken off and pushed in

This would be 'seal cove/Seaplane base' on that wikipedia list I believe because, well that's where it is located, there is several other bunkers and buildings there as well, but this is the only image I currently have, Like I said.


I'll post more installments of BB&B when I get more information or go bunker diving again.

Update on last weeks WW&W's

Well first for my wants, The items I was planning on getting were one of the DDR visor caps and the ww1 Glengarry hat

Well as for the glengarry, that hat got up to 92 dollars before it ended, too far out of my budget for me to get, and as for the visor hats, I did get one! I ended up with the one I wanted as well, it should be a perfect fit. It should be here in a week or two.


As for last weeks wins, I received them both and they are reviewed in my previous entry

Package recieved!

Hey guys, got a package today containing my p51 gear, sadly, he forgot to put the compass pouch in, but he mailed it today so it's all good

First item I got is the mess tin carrier, it is issued and a bit dirty, but it's in good condition if it were to be cleaned, What I don't plan on doing though.


The second item was a pattern 51 gas mask bag, it has 2 attachment spots missing off, but it's just fine other than that, smells old, but doesn't everything that's over 50 years old? Now I know that the pistol belt isn't the correct one, but it's just for display , and I currently don't have a 51 belt

Ebay Wants, Wins & Total Washouts 1st edition

Hello, Me again (Well, who the fuck did you think it was going to be) with a new segment I will try to carry on from time to time talking about items I`ve won, lost, and items I`m wanting or planning to buy on the bay of E.

Wants:
my first item I will try to win I spotted earlier this week, it is a ww1 issue Glengerry hat

Now even more exiting to me is an item I recently spied today, I will probably bid on it if the seller sends me some more pictures of the hat so I can get a better look at it, it is a DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik [East germany]) Peaked cap w/hat badge
also noticed he has a few other DDR peaked caps so I can pick and choose and make up my mind over the next few days
Really hoping I win one of these items if not both.

Missed the bidding for this item by a few minutes, but since I purchased two other items from the seller at the same time, I explained my situation and he offered to throw it in for just another 10 dollars, so I said sure and I technically lost it, but I still get it

My current collection

Hello readers, I figured since this is my first post, I'd post an image gallery of my current militaria (War Memorabilia) collection, I have pieces from many different eras and many different wars, I'm currently trying to complete a set of web gear (various Pouches, Belt/suspender systems, and tools) that will match my canteen set I acquired a few years ago, It's Canadian 1951 pattern for those of you who give a rats ass, and it's a bit hard to find I've found. I have three items coming in from ebay for my set, so I'll post when those are in! Now I'm no expert on my items by a long shot, so feel free to contact me with such things as "Hey you douche, that's from ww1 not ww2" and "LOL THATS FAKE YOU GOT OWNED" and heck, even something useful like telling me more about the item, or just plain commenting on it

This is a USMC (United States Marine Corps), Vietnam issue three cell grenade carrier, It's worn on the pistol belt and has straps so it can be secured around your leg, I've also seen them worn on backpacks in images too. Exact date unknown










Ah, this is one of my favorite items, this is a WWII Canadian gas mask, Dated 1942, This particular mask was used for training, and not an issued one, you can tell by a bar on the canister, but it is exactly like the ones issued as far as I know, Bar the bar (Excuse that pun)


Oh yes, another one of my favorites, my friend brought me this back from a trip he took to Russia last year, it's dated 1988, and has some more writing on it, too bad I can't read russian, if you can, feel free to ask for a picture of the stamp.












Now I like these because I'm Scottish Canadian, these are WWII Era (I believe) Shoulder flashes for the Scottish Canadian regiment (The Princess Mary's)












This is a WWI General's cap badge, nothing really more to say about this one















This is a pistol belt, it came attached to the canteen set I bought (the pattern 51 one) but it's not pattern 51 and I really have no clue when or what country it's from to be perfectly honest, I asked on one forum but was met with hostility because I did not use my real name as my username and apparently that was one of the forum rules =/







My Pattern 51 canteen carrier, Not sure if the canteen or cup were issued with it because the canteen is plastic, and plastic canteens were issued after 1962, and this is dated 1953 so the canteen wasn't, I'm in the process of tracking down the proper aluminum one, As for the canteen cup, it is canadian stamped, so I assume it's for the canteen kit








US Vietnam Issue dufflebag, this thing is fucking huge. Not sure on exact date















This is one of my
vietnam issue fatigue shirts, this one I bought because I wanted one that would fit me, but the first one I bought was too small














A shot of both fatigue shirts, they're two different patterns as well, I'm not too sure which though, both 'Nam issue, although the larger one is clearly unissued.
